From the moment you arrive at our marina to the second you return with unforgettable memories, we’ve designed every detail of your snorkeling trip to be seamless, safe, and absolutely magical. Here’s exactly what to expect.
Your Adventure Begins
Our guests will meet at our boat’s location (Saga Haven Marina, 6117 Estate Frydenhoj, St Thomas, Virgin Islands 00802) 15 minutes prior to scheduled departure.
Once they arrive at the boats the crew will give the group a dive and safety briefing explaining how the shark dive works.
The crew will also get everyone geared up at the dock that way when we arrive at the dive site our guests will be able to start the dive right away and avoid any delays.
From there we will leave the marina and head out on a comfortable and scenic cruise up the St. Thomas coast for 20 minutes before reaching our dive site.
During the cruise, our dive guide will talk about the sharks in the area, their importance to our oceans, and answer and shark or dive-related questions as we go.
During the entire trip, our dive guides and crew are there to help you! Any questions or special needs you might have during your trip will be taken care of with professionalism and dedication by our staff
Arriving at the USVI Snorkeling Caribbean Dive Site
Upon reaching the reef site, the boat will be anchored securely and our guides will make sure all guests are ready and comfortable before entering the water.
Once you lower yourself into the water, you’ll be immersed in an incredible snorkeling experience. The vibrant coral gardens, tropical fish, and marine life of the Virgin Islands will surround you. You might see sea turtles gliding gracefully overhead, rays cruising along the bottom, colorful parrotfish munching on coral, moray eels peeking out from crevices, and schools of reef fish in every direction.
The waters here are warm and crystal-clear with an average visibility of over 80 feet and water temperatures around 80 degrees—perfect conditions for exploring the reef at your own pace.
Whether you’re a first-time snorkeler holding onto our surface float line for support, or an experienced snorkeler freediving deeper to get a closer look, our guides will be right there with you, pointing out wildlife and making sure you’re having the time of your life.
The USVI Snorkeling Experience
The entire time you’re in the water, you’ll be guided and supported by one of our professional snorkel guides. All of our guides are certified, experienced, and trained to work with snorkelers of all levels—from complete beginners to seasoned explorers.
Each snorkeling trip includes approximately 1.5 hours of in-water time, while the rest of the 2-hour trip is for travel and gear prep. We find that this amount of time is perfect for most guests to explore the reef, spot marine life, and soak in the Caribbean beauty without feeling rushed or exhausted.
During your time in the water, our guides will:- Point out interesting coral formations, fish species, and marine life
- Help you feel confident and comfortable in the water
- Keep an eye on everyone to ensure safety and enjoyment
- Answer questions about what you’re seeing
If you’ve purchased a photo and video package, our guide will be capturing the best moments of your snorkeling adventure so you can relive the experience forever.
Once your snorkeling time is complete, you’ll return to the boat where our crew will help you get comfortable and organized. This is a great time to share stories with your group, towel off, enjoy a cold drink, and take in the Caribbean views on the ride back to St. Thomas.
